Testimonials

  • I am writing this testimonial to attest to Linda’s knowledge, hard work and dedication in the field of nutrition. Her expertise has made some significant and noticeable changes in my overall physique and a whole new outlook in life. I’m a 33 year old, married woman; I have a 10 year old daughter and two step sons and work full time. I have been struggling for years with my personal and my family eating habits, trying to eat healthy and reaching my desired weight. I have tried many different diets and pills in an effort to lose the extra inches while feeling good about myself. I exercised on a regular basis and was not obtaining the results I was looking for. I have also struggled with lack of energy, depression, fatigue and constipation.

A couple of years ago at my job, I met a nutritionist who briefly talked to me about healthy eating and how I was not doing the right thing to get the results I wanted. It wasn’t until almost two years later where I sought services from Linda and became her client. At first I was a bit skeptical and first thing I mentioned to her was that I did not want to feel restricted about eating, I wanted all to be a gradual changed, so I decided to stick to the plan and after losing 12 pounds, a few inches off the waist, I started feeling more comfortable with myself, I have the energy I lacked, not to mention the endless compliments from friends and family. I can honestly say that it has changed my life and the ones of my family. Simply by attending short sessions that taught me not only all the different aspects of healthy eating but also a healthy lifestyle, I was able to get the results I was looking for. Just in a few weeks following a change in what I was eating and cooking and changing a few things about my life style, people started to notice the difference in my weight and my family began to follow along with me. Not only was I losing the weight I wanted, but I saw changes in my emotional status and bowel movement. I know there are a few more things to work on but right now I am completely satisfied with my results.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Linda for all the knowledge she has bestowed upon me over the course of these 4 months, the fact that I don’t feel restricted when it comes to eating and the gradual approach towards a healthier diet has come natural to me, it has motivated me to keep living this way for the rest of my life.

  • I participated in Linda’s program in July. Linda’s team participated virtually on FB for the Detox program and we had encouraging support from her throughout our journey. As a result of Linda’s program, I lost approximately 5 pounds that were stubbornly around my waist. My goal was not for weight loss, but to introduce healthy alternatives into my daily regimen. I do not eat a lot of junk foods or soda. I do not consume alcohol. My goal was to introduce more fruits and veggies into my diet, along with protein smoothies. I never experienced headaches from the detox. I am rather active, healthy and have a lot of energy, but the program gave me additional boost. More importantly, it was fun!

I even got back to the gym and found two local smoothie restaurants. Since the program, I have incorporated kale, chia seeds, flax seeds and other exotic options that Linda shared with us. Because I work from home, I have a lot of control on what I eat. On Sunday evenings, I go to the grocery store, and stock up on my healthy options for the week. It gives me a challenge. I just had major blood panel work done, and today received feedback of excellent results! Linda’s program is not about starving your body to lose a few pounds. Linda’s program is about total wellness, and incorporating enriched foods for a sustained mind and body. I turned 52 this year and am blessed to not have any side effects of menopause (i.e. depression, weight gain, hot flashes, etc).

I’m staying with Linda’s program, and the foods I learned about during our virtual journey are now with me on a daily basis. PS: I have the occasionally Twinkie, and have no guilt whatsoever! Love, DoeI

  • I have been fasting & detoxing to improve my health for many years. A Sensational You: The Summer Detox, if by far the easiest, most effective and cost effective program I have ever used. Linda has put together a program that is as effective for beginners as for experienced detoxers. I never felt deprived of food & the program is very forgiving, allowing variances for food preferences & sensitivities. Even when eating out, I was easily able to adhere to program. The recipes are creative and delicious; specifically, the smoothie recipes are the best! I lost weight, have more energy & feel great! Linda is a great coach and cheerleader. I can’t wait for the fall program!

  • I want to let you know how much I respect and care for my friend, Linda Smiciklas.

Professionally, we have know each other for 25 years. We have worked together in several hand therapy clinics, shared many professional courses and had too many discussions to count regarding patient care, protocols and procedures. Linda is professional, caring and an excellent hand therapist. Guess where I was the night I cut my small finger pretty badly? Yup! Linda’s house! She’s the best!

I recently participated in the Summer Detox program supervised and directed by Linda, now my Health Coach. It was easy to follow with great information. I really enjoyed the recipes. Surprisingly delicious! My body and my taste buds began to want only healthy food choices! My hot flashes have almost disappeared completely! I have been able to cut my medicine for high blood pressure in half ! The food is only part of it. The education and support from Linda makes it possible and enjoyable. Linda, cares passionately about her work and wants us to succeed. She will be there for you every step of the way!

    Thank you, Linda! Love you!

  • My daughter is a registered dietician from UF and an independent adventurer. She knows all about organic and vegetarian and balance and moderation. I see my college roommate and Facebook ‘friend’ started a new business venture about living and eating healthier to be healthy for life – Trihealthforlife. We are not getting younger and my husband and I have discussed that we want to actually take steps to be healthy in our later stages of life. So I paid attention to Trihealthforlife and started asking a few questions about the upcoming detox group that was starting in June (2013). I had heard about ‘detox’ programs and understood the purpose was to make you more healthy, but I was familiar with a less than healthy format where you drank one thing for 10 days or purchased your detox “plan”. Then there were the stories of people being hospitalized (even dying) because of their new “diets”/detox programs. So to say I was fully onboard right away would be lying.
After seeing the recipes and comments about Linda’s program and what was involved, I did start asking her questions about the type of food was involved, how was this different from the ‘fad’ detox programs (to which she gave me good answers). Then I started seeing stories about some of the superfoods on Dr. OZ and stories about people with personal chefs/health coaches doing detoxes and wanting to do them regularly because it was so good for them. I learned that Linda’s program was not for weight-loss as much as for health (weight loss is a side effect though!) and you bought your food yourself and created the recipes from healthy fruits and vegetables, nuts and oils. After a little more research, I signed up for the June detox.

After I received the materials (shopping list, recipes, daily menu suggestions), I have to tell you I was a little intimidated. I had never heard of a lot of these food items before much less knew where to buy them or what they looked like. I bet there was about two weeks where I told myself I didn’t know what I was getting into, I was quite uncomfortable with the idea of it and intimidated about when to buy, what to buy and how I was ever going to make all this stuff when I didn’t really cook much at all. How would I make three ‘meals’ a day for myself that I didn’t think my family would be participating in – in fact, what would they think of me doing this? But I did it anyway.

It was AWESOME – truly one of the better things I have ever done! I learned so much about healthy foods I had heard of (or not) and how to incorporate them into your menu. The first time I went to the produce market I didn’t look at the stuff to buy, I looked at the signs to see if I could find some of the things on the list because I had no idea what they looked like. I didn’t find everything and I never did buy some of the ingredients. But that is the great part – you are not tied to a set meal plan. You can mix and match the recipes as you like/are able. So I followed the menu plan as well as I could. Some things I liked and some not so much, but I was never hungry and have a wealth of food knowledge I didn’t realize I was missing. I am not a heavy person, but I ended up losing 8 pounds in the two week program! (My daughter was concerned, but I ate and ate and explained what I was eating and showed her the recipes and she has agreed it was a good program). It has been almost two months since I ‘did the detox’ and I am still making smoothies for breakfast (I just make up my own based upon what I learned from the menus – and my husband has one each morning too). I usually have a salad for lunch and the trail mix as a snack in between. I am regularly buying things I NEVER bought before: flaxseed, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, coconut oil and coconut water, avocado, kale, sprouts. My favorite things about the program are: 1) you do NOT have to be hungry (there were snacks and suggestions for eating your way through the program); 2) weight loss and a flatter stomach were side effects and 3) my daughter keeps saying things like “Nice, mom!” when I am just talking about the changes I’ve made.

A couple of helpful notes: The stuff tastes good and is extremely healthy. When I tell you I put avocado or spinach or coconut oil in my breakfast smoothie, it doesn’t sound right. But you don’t taste those things – the smoothies taste like a fruit smoothie! After you do this for a while, you feel better and you know you are doing your body good. So that no matter what comes along, you can feel like you did a decent job taking care of your body (I haven’t been able to give up french fries and ice cream yet)!

  • “ I am completely addicted to carbohydrates and had an insatiable appetite. I constantly craved all the wrong foods. I haven’t been in a picture with my 2 year son since he was born. I’m still working on my weight loss goals but with Linda’s help I plan to be in pictures this Christmas.
I’ve worked with Linda as my health coach and have literally begun to change my life. The past four years, I have dealt with some incredible health issues and had a baby. I am still unable to exercise so Linda’s whole foods program has become a life changer. My goals when I started the program were to lose weight and get a handle on how to be healthier. I am learning so much, such as which foods cause inflammation, how to listen to my body, etc. Linda has introduced me to new foods and recipes. I have lost weight and I am feeling accomplished and strong.
Linda’s energy and supportive approach are working very well for me. Obviously the work has to be completed by me but with her dedication, knowledge, enthusiasm as well as professionalism, I know my goals can be achieved!”

  • “My 24 yr old daughter who lives in Italy was home for the summer. I talked to her about your detox program since she was having a lot of digestive issues, skin rashes from wine (not good when you live in Italy) and constipation issues I believe a 24 shouldn’t be having as much as she was. She wanted to try the detox to see if she would notice a change in her body. She is back in Italy now and when we hugged goodbye at the airport she thanked me for teaching her how to “pooh” on a daily basis again! So strange but true! lol. This morning she sent me this message…I wanted to share and thank YOU! I was really starting to worry about her but now I know she has the tools needed to take a healthier approach to living and eating overseas.

‘So I went to the store yesterday and got a lot of stuff to cook healthy meals. Couldn’t find chia seeds or flax seed or kale or coconut oil so I might still have to hunt for that….though I believe coconut oil has been talked about here but not yet imported :/ Either way, I’ve got to the bathroom everyday since I’ve been back and feel the best I’ve felt in a year. Also, my body hasn’t broken out by drinking wine yet so idk what it was about that detox but thanks for making me to it! I avoid dairy as much as I can and chose salad over a lot of meals so I’m just going to keep Rollin with that!'”

  • Linda has been my personal trainer for the past five years.
I am 88 years old, in fairly good health. Linda and I have training sessions twice a week, concentrating on balance, strength, posture, breathing and cardio. Each session is different, individually tailored to keep me physically fit.
She has a caring attitude in my training, watchful of all motions in a proper stance.
Careful attention is given to prevent falling, bending improperly or lifting beyond my capacity.
I would strongly recommend her and would welcome contact by email to spiegelspo@gmail.com to answer any questions.
